Our conflict of interest, stated plainly
We sell services in the market this desk reports on. That gives us a reason to favour news that makes our services look necessary and to be unfair to competitors. These rules exist to stop that:
- No client coverage. The desk does not report on companies that pay us.
- No selling inside stories. News stories carry no links to our services, prices or enquiry forms.
- Competitors get disclosure, not silence. When a story covers a company we compete with, it says so.
- The same standard for everyone. Vendor research is labelled vendor-funded, including research that agrees with us.
