News desk
How this desk uses AI, and where a human decides.
AI tools scan sources, fetch documents, check them against each other and draft stories. They never publish. A named human editor reads every story, checks it against its sources and decides whether it runs.
Who does what
| Step | Done by |
|---|---|
| Scan official sources and trade press for changes | AI |
| Fetch and archive the primary source; trace secondary reports to their origin | AI |
| Draft the story in our house structure | AI |
| Automated checks: sources, originality, disclosures | Software |
| Adversarial review: a separate AI pass tries to break every claim | AI |
| Read, verify, edit, approve or reject | Human editor |
| Publish | Human editor |
What AI never does here
- Publish anything
- Invent a quote, a number or a source
- Count as a source. A story's facts come from documents, not from a model's memory
Why we tell you
You should know how the news you read was made. Every story ends with a short note saying AI assisted and a human approved.
